Research
My research focuses on the development and application of quantitative methods for complex research problems.
My current interests include:
- Educational measurement and psychometrics
- Large-scale assessment and survey data
- Machine learning applications in education and psychology
- Longitudinal and complex data analysis
- Missing data and psychometric harmonization
- Advanced quantitative methodology
Research Software
I develop R packages and other research software to support reproducible quantitative research and methodological applications.
Selected Research
Large-Scale Assessment & NAEP
My research uses large-scale assessment and survey data to study measurement, assessment, and substantive questions in education. I have particular experience with NAEP, including complex sample designs, variance estimation, psychometric methods, and the analysis of assessment data.
Machine Learning & Computational Methods
I investigate how machine learning and emerging computational methods can complement established statistical and psychometric approaches. My work considers applications in education and psychology while emphasizing methodological rigor, interpretability, and connections to substantive research questions.
Longitudinal & Complex Data
My research also addresses methodological challenges arising in longitudinal, multisource, and complex datasets, including missing data, psychometric harmonization, and advanced quantitative modeling. These methods support research spanning education, psychology, health, and human development.
